Before you Come In

The Patient Registration Form should be returned to the Admissions Dept., prior to admission date. You admission letter will normally ask you to phone in advance (061 - 482164) and check the availability of a bed. This is most important since all wards have to admit accident and emergency cases.

Please do not hesitate to telephone if you have any queries. If you admission has to be cancelled by the hospital, you will receive as much notice as possible of such cancellation. In the event of a cancellation, you will be given a new appointment as soon as possible.

If, for any reason, you are unable to attend for admission, please tell us as soon as possible. This allows us to offer the bed to another person.

It is advisable that, when you come in you are accompanied by a relative or friend who can take any clothing, valuables or medicines etc. that you will not need. There is limited storage space on most wards.

Please DO NOT BRING large sums of money, jewellery, pension/savings books with you.

You will only need a small amount of money for the shop and trolley service and to provide change for the telephone.
